IWW against wave theft

In September 2014 the IWW Chicago local stages a protest in front of the „Freshii“ restaurant in Chicago. The demands are simple: payment of all missing wages, an end to false pay slips, the reinstatement of fired unionists and the recognition of the IWW Freshii Workers Union.

The biggest part of the missing wages were payed after the first action of the workers in August 2014. Since then, the struggle has been for the reinstatement of three colleagues that have been fired and for the recognition of the union – in June 2015, charges were filed by the workers with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). The franchise could become an example for this business model in the United States and prove: "There is no such thing as a un-organizable workplace.“
