Lars Hirsekorn has worked at VW in Braunschweig since 1994 and is a member of the works council there. He talks about the collective labour agreement concluded at VW in December 2024 and the state of the German automotive industry in general. At VW, 35,000 jobs are to be cut and the profit rate reduced to 6%. The workers are furious with IG-Metall, which reached such a deal after a few hours of warning strikes - without touching the strike fund and, above all, without consulting the workforce.
Hirsekorn is a co-initiator of an action newspaper that aims to fuel resistance and debate in the automotive industry.
