On 28 August 2025, employees at the Helios Clinic in Dachau used their lunch break to stage a protest. The protest in Dachau was triggered by the fact that the already overworked nursing staff are to take over bed cleaning in future.
In 2020, the law stipulated that hospitals would be reimbursed for the costs of nursing staff by the health insurance funds. This should mean that hospitals will stop making savings on nursing care. However, the Helios Group is responding to this by burdening nurses with new tasks that were previously carried out by other professional groups.
"It's not that we're too good for anything, not even for distributing food or anything like that, but the fact is that there are simply too few people and that's why things like that have to be cut back as a first step. And the second is simply to recruit enough people here, in all professions." (from the video)
