        Action Day: Emmelys exist everywhere!

Berlin, October 10, 2009: Rally and culture performance in front of the theater Berliner Volksbühne at Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz.

Not just the new government, but also the supermarket chain Kaiser's Tengelmann AG announced a cost-cutting program: Many stores will be shut down, the workforce will be reduced and more temporary staff with lower wages than the core workers will be hired.

Emmely's struggle against Kaiser's will go to the federal labor court (Bundesarbeitsgericht) next year. The situation at Kaiser's was used to stress that Emmely and others had resisted in an organized way against their working condition, and that's why she was fired.

The workforce of the arthouse cinema "Babylon Mitte" took part in this day of action. For months it has had a conflict with its management. It is organized in the anarcho-syndicalist union FAU.
